This is Madeleine Radzwion, the adorable 4-year-old daughter of my
friend Connie. Earlier this year, Madeline was diagnosed with a very
rare autoimmune disease called juvenile dermatomyositis. This means
she has to spend 3 days a week in the hospital, getting IV prednisone
and some other nasty medications. Her treatment is at Texas
Scottish Rite Hospital for Children
<http://www.tsrhc.org/about_us.cfm>.
Here's a little of what Connie wrote:
"...this place is run solely on the generosity of others. I cannot get them to take payment...so I bring stuff for the staff and other patients everytime I go. They are all such wonderful people. The Child Life Dept is my favorite group of women. I would not make it if not for their help and wisdom! ..."
Connie and Madeleine have started a journal, so if you have a few
minutes go visit and sign the guest book - it would be such a thrill
for this little girl. You can see it at Caring
Bridge.
If any of you in the cosmetic industry have spare products around and
would consider sending them to the nursing staff, please email Connie
at CGoldTX@aol.com.
And if any of you have money left in your budgets for charitable
donations, think about:
